SEIKO CUSTOM MOD DIVER'S AUTOMATIC SUBMARINER SRPD SKX 4r36'SUPER HULK PLUS
Stunning Seiko SRPD 4R36'Super Hulk Plus. This is one of Seiko's new SRPD line of watches. This watch can trace its roots back over 40 years back through the SKX, 7002 and 6309 lines. If a watch ever punched above its weight, then in my eyes at least, this is certainly it.
This particular piece has then been further enhanced with a few subtle modifications to pay homage to much more expensive watches on the market. Modifications include a full Rolex Benz Style hand set, a brushed chapter ring and Sub Hulk style bezel insert. The bezel insert, sitting on top of a sub style rotating bezel, then blends into a high top sapphire crystal glass with ice blue AR coating which catches nicely in the light. This is all fitted inside the SRPD case with matching crown, whilst power is provided by Seiko's 4r36 hacking and hand winding mechanism, which is displayed behind its own exhibition caseback. I've then finished the look off with a very high quality leather strap with polished hardware.
It's a very good addition to any collection and an absolutely stunning watch to look at. This is a sizeable watch with a good weight and presence on the wrist that looks at home with both smart and casual attire.
